L'Ouvre Studio ("we", "our", "us") operates the Ouvre mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app.
By using Ouvre, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Account information: Full name, email address, date of birth, profile photo, and selected role (Student, Teacher, Professional Dancer, or Company).
Profile content: Biography, training history, skills, performance metrics, school or company affiliation, teaching philosophy, and portfolio media.
Videos and media: Dance videos, voice memos, profile images, gallery content, and competition submissions you upload.
Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We retain transaction records (amounts, dates, booking references).
Communications: Messages sent through in-app chat (direct messages, community rooms, and competition channels).
Usage data: App interactions, feature usage, session duration, and crash reports.
Device information: Device type, operating system, and unique identifiers for push notifications.
We use your information to provide and maintain the app, including account creation and authentication; enable bookings, live lessons, video critiques, and competitions; process payments between students and teachers via Stripe Connect; send push notifications about bookings, messages, and competition updates; moderate content and enforce community guidelines; analyse usage patterns to improve the app experience; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and comply with legal obligations.
We share data with the following services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, file storage, crash reporting, cloud messaging, and serverless functions.
Stripe — Payment processing for lesson bookings, streaming fees, and teacher payouts via Stripe Connect.
Mux — Video hosting, transcoding, and streaming for uploaded dance videos.
LiveKit — Real-time video and audio for live lessons and sessions.
RevenueCat — In-app purchase management for memberships and boosts.
Microsoft Clarity — Session replay and heatmap analytics to improve usability.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded videos may be archived after their display period expires.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Account deletion removes your profile, uploaded media, messages, and associated records. Some data may be retained briefly in backups or as required by law.
Payment records are retained as required by financial regulations.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
Erasure — Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), Firebase App Check to verify authentic app requests, server-side input validation and sanitisation, and secure payment processing through Stripe.
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
